Rosa Gomez, LMFT
About
Rosa Gomez is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist based out of New Jersey, and the founder of Cora Psychotherapy. She graduated with her Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University in 2017, and has worked in the mental health field treating trauma, helping couples heal, and reuniting families ever since.

As a marriage and family therapist, Rosa specializes in helping couples heal from affairs and challenge patterns of miscommunication through a blend of Emotionally-Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method. She also works with individuals and families. Rosa specializes in empowering individuals to reclaim their personal power by re-authoring their stories after experiencing childhood abuse, sexual violence, and racial trauma; and in reconnecting families dealing with estrangement through Family Systems Theory.

Rosa is also passionate about offering therapy to marginalized communities, and has extensive experience working with African, African-American, Caribbean, and Latino populations.
Rosa's Approach to Therapy
"When working with you, I know you are bringing more than just yourself into the therapy room: you are bringing in the family you originated from, your culture, and past experiences you've had in relationships and with society. I take all of this into consideration when treating issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational problems with partners or family. I don't view myself as an expert in your life. I believe every individual, couple, and family has the capacity and internal wisdom to achieve their goals, and I view myself as your guide, encouraging, empowering, and walking alongside of you in your journey towards healing."
